$500k Five Star Challenge at PartyPoker

PartyPoker’s latest exciting and unique promotion begins on Wednesday December 1st and everyone is invited to take part. The “Five Star Poker Challenge” offers all PartyPoker players the chance to win a share of $5,000 for every day in December, as well as a shot at winning half a million dollars!

The PartyPoker “Five Star Poker Challenge” is incredibly simple to get involved with. All a player needs to do to grab their chance to win big money, is to earn five PartyPoints. That’s it! Once you earn five PartyPoints, you are eligible to play in the following day’s $5,000 freeroll tournament.

There will be one of these $5,000 freerolls at PartyPoker every day throughout December, which means a maximum of 31 chances at winning a cut of $5,000, just for earning five PartyPoints a day!

Want more? PartyPoker are also awarding some impressive bonus prizes throughout the “Five Star Poker Challenge”, starting with a $50,000 “Five Star Poker Challenge Finale” freeroll, which will take place on Sunday January 2nd 2011. A seat will be awarded to every player who successfully qualifies for five of the daily $5,000 freerolls, so you could find yourself playing for a cut of $50,000 for doing nothing more than playing cards at one of the world’s most popular poker websites.

Similarly, players managing to win consistently during the “Five Star Poker Challenge” will also be rewarded.

Winning two of the daily $5,000 freeroll tournaments will earn a bonus of $5,000 and winning three will earn a hefty payout of $50,000. But here’s the clincher – any player managing to put in a “Five Star” performance to win five of the daily freerolls, will earn themselves an incredible $500,000 bonus from PartyPoker.

To qualify for the bonus, players do not need to win consecutive tournaments, so if you were to win the first and last of the freerolls, you would qualify for the $5,000 bonus!

As if PartyPoker’s “Five Star Poker Challenge” wasn’t enough this December, the popular poker site are also running the “VIP Gift Accumulator”, which allows all VIP players to earn extra rewards for their regular play. All you need to do is play as normal and the more points you earn, the better your prize reward will be.

Gifts range from $50 in cash (for earning 1,500 points) right through to a World Poker Tour seat of your choice (30,000 points), but you must opt into the “VIP Gift Accumulator” promotion, by visiting PartyPoker.com and registering.

Playing Against a Pre-Flop Raise
You’re playing No Limit Texas Hold’em and you’re dealt a premium hand. A player in front of you opens with a raise. It’s a great feeling, but it’s just as important to play this situation correctly as it is to fold a poor hand or to call when the pot odds are right, if you are to build a bankroll and be a winning poker player in the long term. So what needs to be considered to ensure the hand is played optimally?

How To Deposit Money For US Players
Once you have found an online poker room or casino that accepts players from the U.S. (find them here: US Casinos and US Poker Sites), you then have to find a way of funding your online gambling account.

Hand Reading vs Ego
“I knew you had that!” – the call of the losing poker player. We’ve all heard it, in fact we’ve probably all said it once or twice too, but it’s a classic example of ego interfering with common sense at the poker table. Hand reading is such an important part of becoming a winning poker player and it is essential that nothing impairs the decision making process. Here are the classic mistakes to cut out of your poker game.

Poker Betting Patterns
Read any article relating to poker strategy and it’s highly likely that you’ll encounter the term “betting patterns”. To beat a poker game, it is essential to take on board as much information as possible in order to make informed decisions, and studying your opponents and the manner of their bets is a huge part of that.

Limit vs Big Bet Hold'em
Texas Hold’Em can be played with betting limits, or with no restrictions whatsoever. But Hold’em is Hold’em, right? Surely a good poker player can win whether the game is Fixed Limit, Pot Limit or No Limit? Although the rules of the game remain the same, there are subtle differences between Limit and “Big Bet” Hold’em. If a poker player can grasp these subtleties, there is no reason why he or she can’t succeed at all varieties of Hold’em.

How To Play The Hand - Pocket Fives In Small Blind
You are in the latter stages of an online Single Table Tournament, with four of the original ten players remaining. The blinds are currently 50 / 100 and you are in the small blind. After posting your blind, your stack is 1,200. The top three finishers in the tournament are paid.
